Abstract
From dynamical considerations, a significant fraction of multiple systems of trapezium type is expected to be quite young. A search for positional coincidences between trapezia from various catalogues and infrared sources at 2.2 microns was undertaken. It was found that between 12% and 20% of the trapezia can be associated with infrared sources. Various statistical tests indicate that these coincidences are not likely to be accidental. The nature of the infrared sources associated with trapezia is briefly discussed.Similar Articles
