Abstract
The authors report VLA observations of the H76α recombination line from the ionized envelope of MWC 349. The line is asymmetric, with a steep rise on the blue side. The authors discuss whether this asymmetry is due to non-LTE effects in the formation and transfer of the line or to the bipolar morphology of the source. The electron temperature of the ionized envelope was determined by two independent techniques, obtaining in both cases values consistent with Te ≅ 9000K.Similar Articles
