Abstract
In this paper it is pointed out that turbulent pressure pulsations should be taken into account in the equation of state for the pressure, in supersonic regimes. In the light of the celebrated a standard accretion disc model, it is shown that the structure and emission of the optically thin region of steady accretion discs in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) may be drastically altered. It is shown that z-homogeneity is a very strong assumption that may lead to a solution with matter flowing back from the compact obect. The solutions obtained are everywhere thermally unstable. It is also shown that temperatures in the range (1-5) x 1O^3 ° K yield masses quite dffferent from the values usually assumed for Quasars, unless a given relation between M and Mdot is used.
