Abstract
We have compiled over 800 metallic-line stars (Am.) and suspected Am. We also have presented the UBVRIJHKL photometry of a number of them. Preliminary results indicate that the B-V, V-R and R-I color indices are satisfactorily correlated with the spectral type derived solely from the hydrogen lines.
