Abstract
A comparison of model atmospheres for cool stars with observed data from the OAO-2 for Betelgeuse has been carried out. Results indicate that this star must be underabundant in C. and 0. This result in the ultraviolet is in agreement with similar comparisons in the visual and infrared parts of the spectrum.
