Abstract
In this paper we present a model for the distribution of galaxies in 3-dimensional space. Plane projections allow us to obtain synthetic astronomical plates. The model consists in a distribution of clouds and clusters of galaxies, whose compacticity and density-law agree with the observational information available. The frequency of mor phological types and luminosities are also taken into account. The synthetic plates may be used to check the sensibility of different statistical tests to the 3-dimensional structure.
