Abstract
ABSTRACT. The positions of Astronomical objects with blue magnitudes ranging from 6 to 20 are obtained using the film copies of the "ESO(B) Survey". The mean uncertainty is about 0.5 arcsec. The measurements are made with a PDS micro densitometer and the reference stars are from the Perth 70 Catalogue. Special reduction procedures were developed for treating bright objects, particularly the reference stars, as these present saturated images as well as optical deformations caused by the plate support of the Schmidt Camera. These procedures can be used to determine secondary Catalogue which have relative positions with errors smaller than 0.05 arcsec. The secondary Catalogues were used among other applications, for astrometric measurements of satellites of the External Planets. Key wo : ASTROMETRY - POSITIONS
