Abstract
Photoionized stellar wind bow shocks are found in a number of different astrophysical objects compact H II regions, H II regions around runaway O stars and bow shocks around young, low mass stars within photoionized regions. We present a formulation for calculating the emission measure from analytic, thin shell stellar wind bow shock models, with which simple predictions of the recombination line or the free-free emission can be made. We illustrate the predictions that can be made by calculating the emission maps that result from a model of a non-axisymmetric stellar wind bow shock.Similar Articles
