Abstract
We describe the general features of CanariCam, the mid-infrared camera for the GTC. CanariCam will provide outstanding sensitivity in four different science modes of operation: diffraction-limited imaging, moderate resolution grating spectroscopy, dual-beam polarimetry, and coronography.
