Abstract
An account is given of ESA's Hipparchos mission, with attention to the preparation of its Input Catalog and the Catalog's current contents of different types of stars. Tabulations are presented for V-magnitude vs distance distribution for OB stars, A0-A5 stars, A6-F0 stars, and F1-F8 stars, as well as stars from Gliese's (1969) catalog, and the number of red dwarf, variable, and known-orbit binary stars per magnitude range.Similar Articles
